Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova acknowledged on Wednesday that the scenario in Ukraine is anticipated to be addressed “at every meeting” of prime Russian diplomat Sergey Lavrov held on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
Responding to a query from Anadolu throughout a press briefing in Moscow concerning a possible assembly between Russian and Ukrainian diplomats, Zakharova famous that Kyiv has not requested such contact.
“The first point is that the schedule of bilateral meetings for Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum is still being finalized. The second point, which I can confirm with certainty, is that there will be meetings — many of them.”
Zakharova additionally clarified that she had no data of any periods centered solely on the Ukrainian subject.
“The third and crucial point to distinguish is that the situation around Ukraine will undoubtedly be discussed — of that I am sure — at literally every meeting. However, whether a specialized session is planned exclusively for this topic, I do not have such information,” she mentioned.
She added that preparations are underway for a gathering between Lavrov and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, in addition to a number of different overseas ministers attending the discussion board.
