Russia will reply “adequately” to Poland‘s choice to shut the Russian Consulate General in Krakow, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova mentioned Tuesday, accusing Warsaw of harming its personal residents.
“We are now responding specifically to these inadequate steps of theirs. We are responding adequately, we are responding, taking into account our interests,” Zakharova mentioned on Soloviev Live TV.
She argued that the closure would primarily affect Polish residents who depend on the consulate for providers, and famous that earlier closures had already affected Ukrainians in search of transit by Poland into Russia.
Zakharova’s feedback got here after Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko warned that Moscow could shut Polish consulates in Kaliningrad or Irkutsk in retaliation.
Poland’s transfer follows an investigation linking an enormous fireplace at a Warsaw shopping center to suspected sabotage by Russian operatives.
