The Communist Party of Russia, the second largest occasion in parliament, on Saturday chosen a 75-year-old to face subsequent March in presidential polls towards Vladimir Putin.
At a celebration congress within the Moscow area, the members held a single-candidate vote backing Nikolai Kharitonov.
He received just below 14 p.c of the nationwide vote when he stood towards Putin in 2004.
