At least 17 folks have been killed and 74 others injured on Sunday in a sequence of explosions that struck 4 gasoline stations in Yemen’s southern Al-Bayda province, in line with the Health Ministry below the internationally unrecognized Houthi-led authorities.
As many as 50 others are in crucial situation, the ministry stated in an announcement.
Late Saturday, the Interior Ministry’s media platform stated the explosions occurred within the Nassefa space of Al-Zahir district.
Houthi authorities spokesperson Hashem Sharafuddin stated safety forces are actively investigating the incident, although no additional particulars have been supplied.
The group prolonged “deepest condolences and sympathy to the families and loved ones of the victims of the tragic incident that occurred due to the explosion at gas stations.”
The presence of quite a few gasoline stations in residential areas throughout Yemen has led to repeated accidents.
Yemen stays deeply affected by a protracted civil conflict that has devastated its infrastructure and left thousands and thousands affected by a humanitarian disaster.
