UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres introduced Tuesday the appointment of Sigrid Kaag as senior humanitarian and reconstruction coordinator for Gaza.
“In this role, she will facilitate, coordinate, monitor, and verify humanitarian relief consignments to Gaza,” the UN stated in an announcement.
The former Dutch minister may also set up a UN mechanism to speed up humanitarian aid consignments to Gaza by means of states that aren’t celebration to the battle.
