“The necessary preparations are underway to dispatch two firefighting planes and a helicopter to provide assistance to our neighbor Greece in their battle against the wildfires affecting Athens,” Oncu Keceli, spokesperson for the Turkish Foreign Ministry, stated on X.
Earlier, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan conveyed the message to Athens that Ankara is able to assist Greece as a part of good neighborly relations, in line with Turkish diplomatic sources.
The Greek aspect stated they’ll consider the provide and request help from Türkiye if obligatory.
