Türkiye has joined an initiative to finish arms gross sales to Israel, Ankara’s everlasting consultant to the United Nations, Ahmet Yıldız, introduced a joint letter on the matter. Yıldız stated on Tuesday that they have been in a coalition of key nations calling for a halt to arms transfers to Israel.

Urging all nations to stay on the “right side of history” and be part of the collective initiative, Yıldız pressured that “the bloodshed has to stop.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan introduced the efforts for the initiative final week as he addressed the BRICS summit in Kazan.

He additionally condemned Israel’s assaults on the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), including it’s “imperative that the agency fulfills its mandate.” He noted that Israel’s actions are also increasing tensions with Lebanon, Syria and Iran and urged the U.N. Security Council to “use all of the instruments at its discretion” and to demand an instantaneous cease-fire, the unimpeded supply of humanitarian support and adherence to worldwide legislation and to make sure compliance.
