Ukraine on Thursday claimed that its forces sunk a Russian missile ship belonging to Moscow’s Black Sea fleet.

An announcement by Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence (HUR) stated that the Tarantul-class corvette known as Ivanovets was sunk by particular HUR models in a single day.

“The operation was made possible with the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the United24 platform,” the assertion added.

It stated the corvette was patrolling the Black Sea close to Lake Donuzlav close to the Crimean Peninsula, which Moscow illegally annexed in 2014, when a sequence of direct hits to the ship’s hull brought on harm, leading to it sinking.

“The value of the ship lost by the aggressor state is approximately $60-70 million,” the assertion additionally stated, including that Russian search and rescue operations within the lake had been “not successful.”

Russian officers haven’t but commented on the claims, and impartial verification of Ukraine’s claims is tough because of the ongoing warfare.
