UN Security Council to hold emergency Lebanon session Wednesday

The UN Security Council (UNSC) will convene in an emergency session Wednesday to debate escalating tensions in Lebanon for the second time in every week.

The Permanent Mission of Slovenia stated the session will happen at 6 p.m. Eastern time (2200GMT).

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will ship the opening tackle.

The session was requested by France.

The Security Council beforehand convened an emergency session Sept. 20 to debate assaults utilizing pager and radio units, that have been blamed on Israel.

The Israeli military launched waves of airstrikes in Lebanon since early Monday in opposition to what it referred to as Hezbollah targets amid an escalation in warfare between the 2 sides.
