US closely monitoring Syria as tensions rise in northwest

The US is carefully monitoring the escalating state of affairs in Syria, based on a press release Saturday from National Security Council spokesman Sean Savett.

The assertion criticized the Assad regime for its refusal to have interaction within the political course of outlined by UN Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 2254.
