Ex-Man City’s Mendy files lawsuit against club for unpaid wages

Benjamin Mendy’s lawyer introduced on Monday that the previous Manchester City defender has initiated authorized motion towards the membership for unpaid wages.

Mendy cited “unauthorized deductions from wages” after he was charged with rape and sexual assault in 2021.

Mendy, a France worldwide, was cleared in January by a jury of six counts of rape and one rely of sexual assault, referring to 4 younger girls or youngsters, following a six-month trial.

Jurors failed to succeed in verdicts on two counts of rape and tried rape, resulting in a retrial.

He was discovered not responsible of these two counts in July.

Nick De Marco confirmed in a press release despatched to The Associated Press (AP) that he’s performing on behalf of Mendy “in a multimillion-pound declare for unauthorized deductions from wages.”

“Manchester City didn’t pay Mr. Mendy any wages in any respect from September 2021, following Mr. Mendy being charged with numerous offense(s) all of which he was subsequently acquitted of, till the top of his contract in June 2023,” the assertion learn.

“The declare will come earlier than an employment tribunal.”

Mendy final performed for City in August 2021. He now performs for French membership Lorient.

City didn’t instantly touch upon the matter after being contacted by AP.
