The web site of the British royal household was quickly disabled by a cyberattack on Sunday, dpa has discovered from Buckingham Palace sources.
The web presence of Britain’s royals was the goal of a denial-of-service assault, by which requests from a lot of computer systems bombard a web site in an effort to overwhelm it.
The assault, which happened within the morning, was efficiently repelled by IT consultants, the sources mentioned, and by early afternoon the royal.uk web site was out there once more.
At no time did the web site and its content material fall below the management of the attackers, in line with the sources. It was initially unclear who may need been behind the cyberattack.
