Russia on Thursday revoked its ratification of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) after President Vladimir Putin signed the related invoice.
The Russian parliament had earlier voted for the invoice that repeals Article 1 of the regulation, On Ratification of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty, canceling the ratification.
Russia says the change places it on equal footing with the U.S., which signed however by no means ratified the 1996 treaty, which Russia ratified within the yr 2000.
