Russia’s defence minister Sergei Shoigu inspected a navy manufacturing facility producing the Sarmat intercontinental missile, saying it could quickly be prepared to be used, his ministry posted on Telegram Saturday.
The Sarmat is able to carrying a number of nuclear warheads and is amongst Russia’s next-generation missiles which Putin has described as “invincible”.
The Russian defence ministry posted footage of Shoigu and different navy officers being given a tour of the Kramash manufacturing facility within the Siberian metropolis of Krasnoyarsk.
Shoigu stated the long-range missile complicated “will become the basis of the ground-based grouping of Russia’s strategic nuclear forces.”
The Sarmat missile will probably be “put on combat duty in the near future,” the ministry stated in a press release.
