The White House expressed a robust want on Friday to increase a cease-fire settlement between Israel and the Lebanese group Hezbollah, which is ready to run out in just a few weeks.
“We have every interest in seeing the cease-fire continue beyond the 60 days, and we are working hard in diplomatic channels, and now we’re able to work with a new president of Lebanon to see if we can, you know, if we can see that happen,” National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby informed reporters.
“We are absolutely working to see if this ceasefire can continue,” he added.
Six individuals have been killed Friday when an Israeli drone focused a car within the southern Lebanese city of Tayr Debba, marking the newest violation of the cease-fire settlement signed on Nov. 27.
The settlement aimed to finish over 14 months of combating between the Israeli military and Hezbollah group because the begin of the Gaza warfare in October 2023. Roughly two weeks stay underneath its phrases.
